Generik’s life is a nonstop Tour of Cool. Producer by day, DJ by night and card-carrying party animal at any hour, Melbourne’s Tyson O’Brien is dance music’s larger than life hero.
All of Generik’s music is made to get people moving at festivals and inside rammed clubs, something he knows a thing or two about. This year the professional party-starter landed a residency at Las Vegas superclub OMNIA, supporting superstar DJ Calvin Harris in the hardest-partying city on earth. It’s a spot he was handpicked for by Harris himself, after the pair first met and hit it off six years prior. Elsewhere in Vegas, Generik can be found throwing down in big rooms at Hakkasan and Wet Republic.
When he’s not lighting up Sin City, Generik’s ticking off big North American shows everywhere from HARD Summer to Holy Ship, Life In Colour and Miami superclub LIV – not to mention ruling the mainstage around Australia with Stereosonic. He also made his inaugural appearance at the 25th anniversary of super-festival Lollapalooza in 2016. It’s all in a day’s work for Generik, who now hosts his own radio show every Friday night on Australia’s Nova FM.
